instagram.com/rosedanfordphillips/Contemporary womenswear designer Rose Danford-Phillips creates bold, painterly garments and accessories for striking women with an appreciation for luxury with an air of eccentricity.Inspired by her family of gardeners and artists, a love of the unrestrained, maximalist beauty of nature lies at the core of Rose’s work; and is translated into hand-painted and collaged prints, experimental ‘organic’ textiles and joyful ‘growing’ embroideries which are then combined with sleek jersey, practical workwear and strong tailoring to create her world of Modern Baroque.Rose is fascinated by transformations, and explores this in her work via juxtapositions of traditional and digital crafts; of masculine and feminine silhouettes; and of the stories of both mythic and modern women.London-born Rose Danford-Phillips graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2017 with a fashion MA after completing a BA in textiles at Chelsea College of Art & Design, where her love of material and craft emerged. Following her Masters, she joined the MOAM Collective - a creative enterprise in Amsterdam including mentorship by Viktor and Rolf, Stephen Jones and Walter Van Beirendonck amongst others - where she and 4 other fashion graduates created a refined couture collection. Danford-Phillips debuted her eponymous label’s debut collection at the BFC London Showrooms in February 2019, as part of the House of Peroni. Rose and her work has been featured in Vogue UK, Vogue China, and Vogue Netherlands, as well as Wonderland, Hunger, Glamour, ID and DazedOnline, and many more.made with Lay Theme
